Meet the Team
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
By late 1998, Jack had the spent much of the previous fourteen years writing users manuals and handling marketing and advertising for a small software company that developed applications for accounting firms. His two children were very young and he had a lot of typical questions when it came to his children's health and wellness. The Internet was new and was a good source for some information, but there was really nothing on the Web that offered much on pediatricians or medical and dental issues.
So, in 1999 Jack formed MedNet Technologies with his brother, Chris, to develop websites for healthcare practices. The company quickly expanded, designing some truly awesome-looking websites, but clients rarely provided much, if any, information on their services or patient education materials. Jack and the staff at MedNet started researching healthcare conditions, treatments and procedures and wrote their own discussions for MedNet customers.
MedNet continued to grow and by 2009 the company had built more than 3,000 healthcare websites and the staff had grown to over 50 employees. Drawing on his years in software before MedNet, Jack started leveraging the expanding Content Library (which now featured more than 5,000 different health topics) into a relational database and then into the website development process to increase efficiency and improve quality control. This initiative would ultimately evolve into Dr. Leonardo. Then in 2015 MedNet Technologies was acquired by AdviceMedia.
Jack has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Information Technology. He is a past recipient of the Techonomic Award for Long Island in 2011, and he has been profiled in Newsday and the Long Island Business News (LIBN). In 2010 he was a recipient of the LIBN Achievement and Leadership Award for businesses. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Long Island Software Technology Network (LISTnet) and is a member of The Medical Resource Group. He directs the administration, business development and marketing strategies for Dr. Leonardo Interactive Webservices.
